| Description | On the outskirts of Greater Johannesburg ± 30 minutes from the old city Centre and on the Klein Jukskei River, stands this prominent four-storied Castle on 5 ha (12 acres). The main building is of late 17th Century architectural style.
We are located in tranquil Chartwell West, yet close to the main roads, shopping malls (Fourways Mall, Fourways Crossing, Broadacres Garden Centre, Cedar Square), Monte Casino, The Lion Park, Lanseria Airport, and the brand new Fourways Hospital. Our guest house is very spacious and peaceful, with a beautiful garden and swimming pool. We have the largest maze in Africa, boasting more than 900 conifers. Accommodation We have five double rooms and one double suite with private bathrooms and under floor heating. We also have four newly-renovated cottages. They are all bright and spacious, with traditional country décor. All our rooms in the castle (Somerset, Buckingham, Gloucester, Lancaster & York, and Clarence) have private or en-suite bathroom with bath and/or shower, linen and towels supplied, luxury bath sheets, standing fan, bar fridge, TVs, wireless Iburst internet access, under floor heating, king- or queen-size bed, percale linen, hairdryer, safe, and alarm clock, complimentary tea and coffee, complimentary guest amenities (Mohini by Tabrar & Earle). All our rooms are serviced daily. Breakfast Breakfast is served daily. We offer a combination of continental and English breakfast, to suit everyone’s taste. Conferences We have an air-conditioned conference facility available for a maximum of 15 delegates. We supply a white board, flip chart and complimentary stationery, as well as a light lunch and tea/coffee. Any additional audio-visual equipment can be arranged at an extra cost. Local Attractions All through the year, there are wonderful attractions and happenings going on all around Chartwell, Fourways, Sandton and Johannesburg. Some of these are: Montecasino - an amazing entertainment centre, even for those who do not gamble. Lion Park and Rhino Park - get as close to a lion as you would ever want to be. Sterkfontein Cave - The Cradle of Humankind. Fourways Shopping Mall, and several other shopping centres. Many, many restaurants to cater for every taste, and every pocket. More than 20 cinemas within a short distance from the Guest House. N1 Highway is nearby, with easy access to Sandton City, Randburg and the Airport. We wish you a very relaxing and enjoyable stay! |

| Directions | From N1 North / South, turn onto William Nicol towards Monte Casino. Take the left off-ramp onto Witkoppen Road and get over immediately to your far right lane. Turn right onto Cedar Road and travel towards Dainfern (±3.5km) turn 1st left after Broadacres Shopping Center at Traffic Lights into 3rd Avenue. Drive a further ± 2km’s and cross over a river bridge. After ± 500m uphill turn 1st right onto Hood Road (a gravel road). Follow this road and keep right. You will find 2 guard towers. Turn right into driveway.
