| Description | Elgin House is a luxury guest house that offers an ideal getaway for discerning executives and travellers. Set in the heart of Bryanston on a 1.5 acre plot, this majestic and recently-refurbished house offers top-class accommodation and excellent service.
The spacious communal dining room and lounge are perfect for informal gatherings or meetings, and a beautiful patio, shaded by magnificent trees, adds to the air of countryside tranquility. Your host at Elgin House is there to offer you all that you require for your stay. Whether that means being left to relax and unwind after a day of business, or being given advice on places of interest in an around Johannesburg, the choice is yours. Since the house is large and the rooms spacious, guests can be assured of their privacy. ACCOMMODATION Elgin House offers four beautifully appointed bedrooms that boast the finest percale cotton linen. Each has a television, a private telephone, internet facilities (wireless and cable ADSL connection), a selection of teas, coffees and home-baked rusks. Three bedrooms, with king-, queen-size and twin beds, have fully-equipped en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower, while the fourth bedroom has a double bed and a new en-suite bathroom with shower only. In addition, Elgin House offers a separate Garden Cottage, situated away from the main house and overlooking the swimming pool. This spacious area with large windows providing views of the garden, has two bedrooms, bathroom (shower only), kitchenette and patio, sleeps three (but is able to sleep four), and has all the features offered by the bedrooms in the main house. It is ideal for longer term stays and well-suited to relocation accommodation. BREAKFAST & DINING Served either in the graceful dining room, outside under the oak trees, or as an individual room service, Elgin Houses breakfasts are truly delicious. Have your pick of cereal and muesli, toast, jams and spreads, fresh fruit and yoghurt, a full English breakfast, or vegetarian options. Every attempt is made to cater for guests with special tastes and dietary requirements. Dinners can be arranged with your host. Pre-conference refreshments, teas and lunches catered for. SECURITY The property is secured with high-voltage electric fencing and an electronic, remote-controlled gate. Parking is off-street and secure. On exiting the airport, take the R24, direction Johannesburg. After approx. 9km, take the off-ramp to join the N3 North, direction Pretoria - stay in the second lane from left as the interchange is approached. Follow the highway for approx 13km to join the N1 East, direction Roodepoort. After intersection take the second off-ramp to the left indicating William Nicol Drive. Third traffic light right into Bryanston Drive, after about 3km at T-junction. Right into Homestead Road, then at 1st traffic light left into Shepherd Road. 2nd right into Elgin Road (following signs to Westview Retirement Lodge!!)
